BALM
When the world feels pretty dark and life is so uncertain, find something you know and love
REAL MAGIC
among the monotony and mundane.
REASSURANCE
of humanity and the value of love in our lives
When you find and tell your stories, two things happen…
You add a spark to your innate skill of bringing forward the stories that you need, that you can weave into your life, give it meaning, a secure footing.
And don’t we need that right now? – something to love, something to enjoy, to appreciate in the midst of so much change, fear, and challenge!
And secondly, stories help us connect with others. When we share them, we reinforce their value and relevance, and we see our common humanity – the things we share that uplift us – you, me, us and the times in which we live – those now that seem driven by a focus on divisiveness, disconnect and values degradation.
Right now is February – the month of Valentine’s Day
and before you roll your eyes
I don’t like the commercialisation either. But I do like being reminded of the love.
I do like being reminded of the connections – past, present and future that love has given me. And how I can strengthen those ight now
And because
Right now – the P word, Pandemic –
and if ever we needed a reminder of our one-ness
or the value of love in our lives
it is RIGHT NOW!
Also because
I am reading an amazing book by Australian author, Trent Dalton. He sat on a street corner in our city and asked people for their love stories, and then told them in his inimitable storytelling, Australian style.
AND SO
Today – an invitation to
to tell the stories of love for and between people, stories of the love that has come from things in your life and what it has felt like, what it means to you.
Not just romantic love
not just who or what YOU love.
HOW IT WORKS
I email you a prompt.
You read the words and let them sink into your memories. Something will arise.
You tell the story of that memory.
Craft the story.
You can write it – maybe even in a journal,
tell it into a recording,
create an artwork for it,
hold it in your story bank for the meaning it will give you
